Lightning Tai Chi was founded by Master Bob Hsing with his lifelong study of different forms of Chinese martial arts including Tai Chi, ShaoLin, Weapons and Chi Kung . Master Hsing learned Tai Chi from different masters and particularly from Ueng, Ru-Yuan who is the first apprentice of Master Cheng, Meng-Ching.

Lightning Tai Chi combines the traditional Yang's soft and slow style with Chen's bursting and exerting style to form an explosive and yet harmonious style of Tai Chi. Therefore, among the long time Lightning Tai Chi practitioners, you can almost hear the thunderbolt rumbling when they speak; see the lightning flashing when they move; and there is the protective chi sphere circulating around them at all time. Most recently, Tai Chi has been considered not as a martial art, but a form of Chi Kung or exercise. Master Hsing strongly believes that Tai Chi Chuan is more than that and it is still a form of martial art. Therefore his teaching emphasizes the martial art aspect of cultivating and nourishing chi to fa jin in all the forms of the Lightning Tai Chi. With all the award winning practitioners that he has taught, it is a proven working way of promoting Tai Chi Chuan to the public.
